Repairing what is failing now. This is the most urgent of the four and the least representative of the work — it is one mode, not the whole track.
How consultancy work runs
A bounded first engagement that ends in something written down
The first engagement is deliberately small and deliberately finite. It exists so that both sides can decide what to do next from evidence rather than from impressions.
The engagement is fixed in scope and agreed before it begins. Its output is a written assessment: what the system does, where it is working against you, what the options are, and what each of them would mean for the business.

01 Assess
A written assessment of the system as it actually is — what it does, where it is costing you more than it returns, and which of those things is worth acting on first. Scope is agreed before this begins and does not expand inside it.

02 Decide
The options, side by side, each with what it would mean for the business rather than only for the system. You choose; we tell you plainly which one we would choose and why.

03 Act
The chosen work carried out — a new build, an extension, an upgrade or a repair — in increments you can see, against the definition already agreed.

04 Hand on
The system running, with what is needed to operate and change it written down next to it, so continuing without us is a real option rather than a stated one.
